They Forgot My Birthday—Now Millions Celebrate Because of Me

They Forgot My Birthday

Birthdays are meant to be special—a day when we feel loved, appreciated, and remembered. But what if no one remembers? What if your birthday passes by in silence, with no calls, no messages, and no celebrations?

This happened to me, Ravikant Taigor. On my birthday, I waited for someone to wish me, but no one did. That moment hurt deeply, but instead of drowning in sadness, I turned my pain into purpose. I decided that no one should ever feel the loneliness I felt. This is how the RBirthday app was born.

Today, RBirthday has over 50,000 downloads, and people from all over the world use it to send heartfelt birthday wishes to their loved ones. The journey from being forgotten to making millions celebrate has been nothing short of incredible, and this is my story.

The Day That Changed Everything

It was June 16, 2021—my birthday. Like every year, I expected calls, messages, and social media notifications. But as the hours passed, nothing came. Not a single wish.

At first, I thought maybe people were busy. But as the day ended, reality hit me—I had been completely forgotten. I felt invisible, like my presence didn’t matter. That night, I couldn’t sleep. I kept thinking, "How many others feel this way on their birthdays? How many people wait for a message that never comes?"

Instead of feeling sorry for myself, I made a decision: I would create something that ensured no one else had to feel this loneliness.

The Birth of RBirthday

I had always been interested in technology and app development. In 2019, I had developed a chatting app called RVideo, which allowed users to chat, voice call, and video call—similar to WhatsApp. However, due to technical limitations and lack of resources, I couldn't update it as I wanted, and eventually, I had to abandon the project.

But this time, I was determined to build something from scratch. I spent months researching, coding, and designing an app that would help people send birthday wishes easily. RBirthday wasn’t just an app—it was my answer to the loneliness I had once felt.

By March 4, 2022, after months of hard work, I finally launched RBirthday on the Google Play Store.

Challenges and Struggles

Building an app is not easy, especially when you’re doing everything alone. I faced several challenges:

Learning and Developing: Though I had experience in app development, I had to learn new skills to make RBirthday unique and user-friendly.

Marketing: An app is only successful if people use it. I had to figure out how to reach my target audience and convince them to download RBirthday.

Funding and Resources:
Unlike big companies with huge budgets, I had to rely on my limited resources. Every decision had to be smart and cost-effective.

Despite these challenges, I never gave up. I kept improving the app, adding features, and listening to user feedback.

College Struggles and Rejections

During my college days, I faced many challenges in getting RBirthday recognized. There was a Sinex program where students showcased their self-made models. I presented my RBirthday app to my professor, hoping for recognition. But instead, she dismissed it, saying, "This is just a kid’s app." My classmates laughed, and I felt like no one believed in my vision.

I also tried showcasing my app at Atal Bihari Vajpayee Vishwavidyalaya (ABVV) Bilaspur University multiple times but got rejected on three occasions. I applied for different projects and workshops, but my app wasn’t selected:

A 15-day workshop

A 3-day workshop training

A CodeWar Hackathon, where my project was initially ranked first, but I couldn't present it due to the lack of a laptop.

These rejections and setbacks could have broken me, but instead, they fueled my determination to prove everyone wrong.

From Zero to 50,000+ Downloads

When RBirthday launched, it had only a few downloads. I started promoting it through social media, WhatsApp, and personal networks. Slowly, the numbers started growing. People began using it to send birthday wishes, and positive reviews started pouring in.

One of the proudest moments in my journey was when RBirthday crossed 50,000 downloads. The same person whose birthday was once ignored had now created something that helped thousands of people celebrate birthdays every day.

The Power of Purpose

RBirthday is more than just an app. It’s a movement. Every time someone uses it to send a birthday wish, I feel a sense of fulfillment. The pain of being forgotten on my birthday led to something beautiful—an app that spreads joy worldwide.

Now, even if no one remembers my birthday, I know that somewhere, someone is celebrating because of the app I created.

My Message to You: Turn Your Pain into Power

If you’ve ever felt alone, ignored, or forgotten, don’t let it break you. Let it inspire you. Use your pain to create something meaningful. Success isn’t about what happens to you, but how you respond to it.

If I, someone whose birthday was once forgotten, can build something that helps millions celebrate, then imagine what you can achieve!

My journey from being forgotten to being recognized is proof that setbacks can be stepping stones to success. If you have an idea, a dream, or even just a strong emotion—use it. Turn it into something great. You never know, your story might be the next one to inspire the world.

So, the next time you feel down, remember this: Greatness is born from struggle. Your pain can either define you or drive you. The choice is yours.

And who knows? Maybe one day, the world will celebrate you too.
